Farmers Market at the Capital

Annually, the Michigan Farmers Market Association (MIFMA) hosts three farmers markets on the east lawn of the Capitol Building in Lansing.

Vendors travel from all over the state of Michigan to attend the Farmers Market at the Capitol. Their products vary from fruits and vegetables to artisan cheeses, eggs, meat, sauces, baked goods, apples, cider, donuts, pies, mixes, spice rubs, jams, fish, chocolates and caramels, soap, honey, beeswax products, popcorn and kettle corn, maple syrup, dog treats and cut flowers.

The markets accept SNAP Bridge Cards, Double Up Food Bucks, WIC Project FRESH, Senior Project FRESH/Market FRESH and Hoophouses for Health benefits.

Canning Class at Lions and Rabbits

Join Cellar Door Preserves' owner and jam maker Zenobia in an evening of jam making.

We'll use seasonal produce to create tasty lower sugar preserves.

Light snacks will be provided, feel free to BYOB.

All materials will be provided and each partipant will leave with a jar of preserves, a lovely "How to Can" booklet, and the knowleadge of how to confidently can fruit spreads.

Please bring a kitchen towel so you can easily carry your hot jar at the end of the class.

Each selected exhibitor generously donates 15% of their total sales throughout the event.  Along with 100% of ticket sales, these funds directly support Junior League of Grand Rapids’ projects improving children’s physical health in our community, including Backpack Buddies, Kids in the Kitchen, and the Junior League Wellness Adventure Yard (JL W.A.Y.). Ready, Set, Shop!
